Citigroup has appointed Izzat Dajani as the chief executive officer for Citi Qatar.

Dajani replaces Farhan Mahmood who has transferred within Citi as head of Public Sector Group covering the Middle East.

In his new capacity, Dajani will look after Citi’s operations in Qatar, which include diverse corporate and investment banking businesses covering top tier clients in Public and Private Sectors. He will also lead Citi’s push to deepen client coverage in the country.

Dajani joins Citi from Goldman Sachs International where he had spent more than three years as head of Key and Priority Clients in the Gulf, based in Dubai.

A graduate of the Executive Management Programme at Stanford University, Dajani also holds an MPA from Harvard University. He is a long-standing member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

“Citi’s footprint in Qatar is solid, and together with the Citi team on the ground, we will continue to provide the highest standards of banking service to our niche clients and to fulfill our role as an active member of the Qatari banking community,” said Dajani.
