Saudi stocks down in early trading

Riyadh, March 23, 2013

Saudi stocks fell in early trading on Saturday after world equity markets finished higher on Friday and brent oil futures crept above $107 a barrel.

The all-share index fell 0.11 per cent, weighed by banking shares, down 0.8 percent. Petrochemical stocks rose 0.21 per cent early on.

Struggling telecom company Zain Saudi said earlier on Saturday it had appointed a new chairman.

World stocks rose on Friday amid hopes that Cyprus would avert a financial collapse that would hurt European economies.-Reuters
