Bahrain and Tunisia to spur trade

Bahrain and Tunisia yesterday pledged to boost economic co-operation.
This came as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa held talks with his Tunisian counterpart Mehdi Jomaa at Gudaibiya Palace, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
They agreed to step up financial and banking co-operation through the central banks in both countries, and accelerate economic and trade co-operation by promoting and marketing products of the two nations.
The two leaders also agreed to promote investment opportunities, take advantage of the tourism, trade and cultural potential that exist in the two countries.
Bahrain and Tunisia agreed to activate bilateral agreements signed between the two countries to further boost diplomatic co-operation. The need to invest Arab capital in Arab countries was also emphasised, with the two leaders stressing that Arabs must benefit from these investments.
Jomaa backed the government of Bahrain, under the leadership of the Premier, in its fight against terrorism and maintaining its security and stability. He also invited the Premier to visit Tunisia.
Meanwhile, a trade delegation led by Tunisian Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Wided Bouchamaoui visited Bait Al Tijjar.
She called for forging a strategic partnership between the two countries to boost trade and investments, pointing out the favourable investment climate in both countries. - TradeArabia News Service
