BIBF honours Islamic finance students

Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) held a formal graduation ceremony at its premises in Juffair to honour 16 students who completed the advanced diploma in Islamic Commercial Jurisprudence (ADICJ).

The ADICJ course was developed by BIBF as the first certification of its kind in the world focusing on Islamic commercial jurisprudence from the perspective of Islamic financial institutions, combining both theory and practice, said a statement from the institute.

The students, who represent a wide range of financial services institutions, received their certificates from Khalid Hamad, Central Bank of Bahrain Waqf Fund chairman and executive director - Banking Supervision, and BIBF director Solveig Nicklos.

The ADIJC course is part of the BIBF’s leading efforts in developing qualified human capital in the area of Islamic finance and Sharia compliance and governance.

BIBF plays a vital role in the training and development of human capital in the Kingdom, said the statement.

Since its inception in 1981, BIBF has grown from training 450 applicants a year primarily within the banking industry, to 20,000 drawing participants from all sectors of the economy, and are proud to have qualified over 200,000 learners in the last 3 decades, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
