Gopinath ... making it easier for SMEs

KPMG in Bahrain offers new accounting solution for SMEs

MANAMA, February 14, 2017

KPMG in Bahrain, an audit, tax and advisory firm, has launched its Enterprise Accounting Solution (EAS) in line with its ongoing initiatives to support the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The new service utilises the advanced technologies provided by smartphones and portable devices to make financial management processes simple and available at competitive price, it said.
SMEs have significant contribution in the economy through the volume of exports, capital investments and employment opportunities they generate. Therefore, supporting this vital sector will have positive impact on the local business landscape, KPMG said.

Harish Gopinath, partner and head of KPMG Enterprise at KPMG in Bahrain, commented on this milestone: “We understand the challenges that local enterprises face. The need to keep up with economic developments, the increasing complexity of markets regulations, the introduction of valued-added tax and the growing competition all mean that to thrive, businesses must focus on efficiencies and optimizing business activities.”

Entrepreneurs will no longer need to spend time or resources managing receipts and invoices; they can simply take pictures of expenses with a smartphone and send them to KPMG in Bahrain’s dedicated accountants via the online platform. This will give entrepreneurs the time to focus on running their business.

“Being agile and having confidence in all financial activities can give enterprises the competitive advantage, by allowing them to adapt and make decisions quickly, and implement business strategy without complication,” Gopinath added.

The online platform also gives entrepreneurs instant access to accurate information about their financial performance, cash flow, turnover and costs, which enables them to make informed decisions, said the statement.

KPMG in Bahrain is a member firm of KPMG international.
