Cavotec wins big Saudi Oger order

Dubai, January 24, 2009

Cavotec MSL said it has clinched a major order for the delivery of 53 integrated ground support systems and associated equipment from Saudi Oger, one of the major construction companies in Saudi Arabia.

Cavotec is a leading global engineering group and supplier of innovative solutions for airport, maritime, and general industries.

Expressing his delight at the transaction, Juergen Strommer, managing director of Cavotec Middle East, the Group’s Dubai-based subsidiary, said: “It is a heartwarming appreciation of our efforts to be chosen by such a prestigious organisation as Saudi Oger.

"This further solidifies our reputation in the region as a supplier of innovative solutions to highly demanding industrial sectors such as aviation, mining, ports and maritime."

"We are committed to provide Saudi Oger with the best services and the most advanced technologies that only Cavotec MSL can bring," he added.

The order includes 53 in-ground pit systems, of which five are pop-up pits – units that emerge from the tarmac when required, and retract flush with the apron surface after use – and 24 converters, and associated material.

The systems will be installed in two aircraft hangars in the Saudi capital Riyadh, and the coastal city of Jeddah, Strommer added.

Cavotec’s in-ground systems supply aircraft with fuel, power, water and pre-conditioned air, eliminating the need for service vehicles, diesel generators, cables and hoses that typically cover much of the area around parked aircraft.

The company also supplies innovative and environmentally friendly systems to the airport, maritime, mining, and general industry sectors.-TradeArabia News Service
