Hill International, a leader in managing construction risk, has been awarded a $34 million contract by the Organization for Development of Administrative Centres (ODAC) to design new university campuses across Libya.

The ODAC has given a four-year contract extension to Hill for designing of 25 new university campuses. The new campuses will vary in size, design and function, and will each accommodate between 2,500 and 13,500 students in various regions of the country, Hill said in a statement.

The design of each campus will be unique and reflect each region's inherent history, culture and environment. The program's total construction cost is estimated to be between $3 billion and $5 billion, the company said.

"The design and construction of these new, state-of-the-art higher educational facilities is an important part of Libya's continuing development, and we are pleased to be involved in this exciting program," said Rauf S. Ghali, president of Hill's Project Management Group (International).

Aabar contract

Meanwhile, the company said it has recently won a $14.2 million contract from Aabar Investments to manage the design and construction of 14 mixed-use and residential developments in Abu Dhabi.

The contract from Aabar Investments is for a period of four years, the Marlton-based construction-management firm said in a release.

These include a 25-storey mixed-use building on Reem Island, six 10-storey buildings on Raha Beach, five 10-storey buildings in Rawdat Abu Dhabi besides a 45-storey residential building in Saraya and a 23-storey hotel building in Saraya.-TradeArabia News Service
