RWI eyes major projects in Bahrain

Dubai, February 6, 2012

Rubber World Industries (RWI), a key player in the rubber insulation products sector based in the UAE, aims to expand its trading portfolio to help complement the growing number of projects in Bahrain, said a senior official.

Unveiling its expansion plan, Rizwan Shaikhani, managing director of RWI, said, "Strong government support through major investments and programs is expected to help key in more growth for Bahrain’s construction segment in 2012."

"Bahrain has allotted over $477 million to bankroll various social housing projects for 2012," Shaikhani said, citing industry analysts.

The housing sector will also be receiving additional funds through funding offered by other GCC countries and through the surplus in the 2011 budget, he added.

According to him, the Mena region’s construction industry is moving on the fast track in terms of new projects and the resumption of projects that were stalled by the recent economic downturn.

"Bahrain, in particular, has been forecasted to experience key growth this year through the strong support and backing of the Bahraini government."

"We are very eager to position ourselves as a major provider of world class rubber based building materials for Bahrain’s ongoing construction projects," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
