Christie’s launches property office in London

London, May 30, 2012

Christie’s, the world’s leading art business, has opened a specialist real estate acquisition service for international buyers wishing to purchase a residence in London’s prime residential neighbourhoods.

Christie’s Private Property, the new office, is distinguished by its close ties to the world’s leading art business, and its embedded values of trust, integrity, expertise and client service, a statement said.

“Our overarching corporate objective is to provide our clients with unparalleled customer service and counsel,” said Jussi Pylkkänen, president, Christie's Europe, Middle East & Russia.

“As enquires for real estate guidance is on the rise, Christie’s Private Property, wholly owned by Christie’s, is yet another service that we can offer to our clients to complement our specialty areas of art, jewelry, wines and collectibles.”

“Our boutique property acquisition service was originally established to assist Christie’s clients wishing to purchase a home in London,” said Giles Hannah, the new company’s director and senior vice president.

“The service has been well received so we made it available not only to the company’s clients but to qualified local and international buyers new to Christie’s, as well.”

Over the course of his career, Hannah has closed GBP300 million ($468.5 million) in property transactions, assisting heads of state, royal families, family offices, and leading industrialists.

“Our company advises on the city’s most exceptional homes, whether on the market or only privately available,” Hannah said.

“We offer a highly tailored experience, from identifying the perfect properties to meet each buyer’s needs, negotiating the acquisition details, and post-transition advice and assistance, even to delivering the keys to the new owner, all in order to assure an effortless process.”

Discerning purchasers of luxury real estate from around the globe increasingly select London as a top investment choice with international buyers currently accounting for approximately 45 per cent of purchasers in the prime central districts.

Christie’s Private Property assists by helping buyers to identify acquisition opportunities in the city’s most sought-after enclaves, including Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Mayfair, Holland Park, Notting Hill and Hampstead, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
