CPC wins top rating for sustainability report

Jeddah, November 10, 2013

Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) has secured a level ‘B’ rating from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for its corporate sustainability report for the year 2013.

With this, CPC has become the first Saudi construction products company to acquire this certificate.

The report illustrates the company's progress towards sustainability and its initiatives in various areas including the environment and corporate social responsibility. It additionally confirms the company's commitment to make positive contributions to society and sustainable environment in Saudi Arabia and other countries.

Faysal Alaquil, CPC director of Business Development and head of Corporate Social Responsibility Department, said: “We are very pleased to publish our first corporate sustainability report and receive ‘B’ rating from a globally recognized institution. This noble report sheds light on our wide-ranging sustainability efforts and initiatives.”

Alaquil added that the award is in recognition of CPC’s commitment to embedding sustainability management into its business and adopting global environmental and social principles.

“We recently received the corporate social responsibility initiative award for the current year from Construction Week Awards, Arabian Business Best CSR company Award for the year 2013 and winner of building material supplier of the year in Saudi Arabia. Now this new recognition will enhance our abilities for developing new initiatives for our community” he said.

The Global Reporting Initiative standard was established in 1997 in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, and is the most widely recognized sustainability certification standard worldwide. – TradeArabia News Service
