Badr Al-Meer

UDC appoints acting CEO

Doha, November 26, 2013

United Development Company (UDC), one of Qatar’s major publicly traded shareholding companies, has appointed Badr Al-Meer as its acting chief executive officer (CEO).

Al-Meer will serve under the leadership of the Executive Committee of the UDC Board. He will succeed Ebrahim M. Al-Sulaiti, whose duties as chief executive officer ended on November 24.

With a degree in engineering and electrical engineering from the University of Colorado, Denver, Al- Meer brings to the role a wealth of technical and business experience, a statement said.

Till his appointment as UDC’s acting CEO, Al Meer, who previously served as vice president Engineering and Construction at United Development Company, has worked in progressively important management roles at leading Qatari organizations, including in his most recent role as senior vice president at Hamad International Airport as well as senior vice president at Qatar Airways. – TradeArabia News Service
