Bahrain sewage plant work completed

Manama, December 22, 2013

Bahrain’s Ministry of Works has announced the completion of the renovation work at Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant.

The BD1.8 million ($4.7 million) works are part of the revamp projects being implemented at the plant, said the ministry in a statement.

The work was carried out by international contractors Beton & Rohrbau CF Thymian, Germany and supervised by the consultant P2M Berlin.

Sanitary engineering planning and projects director Asma Murad said the project involved a complete restoration to three ventilation reservoirs and a number of concrete structures at Tubli STP.

The work also included extending the length and width of present emergency drainage channels flowing into Tubli Bay by 430 m, which are used to discharge bilaterally treated water from the plant to Tubli Bay to avoid flooding at the plant and nearby roads, she added. - TradeArabia News Service
