Dubai Design District (d3), a new freezone business park, will offer digital connectivity throughout the area and will use smart solutions and technologies to enhance people's experience in line with Dubai’s ambition to become a Smart City.

Dubai Design District, better known as d3, is dedicated to fostering the growth of the emirate’s design, fashion and luxury industry. It offers a creative community that will be at the very heart of the region’s design scene.  

Commenting at the official strategy launch ceremony for transforming Dubai into a Smart City, Dr Amina Al Rustamani, group CEO of Tecom Investments, the master developer behind d3, said:   "Tecom Investments is proud that Dubai Design District has been entrusted by the government to play a central role in the emirate's ambition to become a Smart City.

“This exciting greenfield development will provide world class infrastructure that enables our business partners, government authorities, telecommunication companies, and other service providers to implement their initiatives in support of this ambition,” she said.

Once the first phase of d3 is delivered in 2015, it will offer digital connectivity throughout the area , she said. Intelligent green solutions will also be applied to the physical buildings so they are more sustainable and reduce energy waste.

In doing so, we will contribute to Dubai's vision for an efficient, modern, seamless and safe city that improves the experience of businesses, residents, tourists and consumers,” said Al Rustamani.

D3 has 10 buildings currently under construction. Once complete, d3 will be a purpose built environment catering to the full value chain of the design, fashion and luxury.  – TradeArabia News Service
