King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has awarded New Job Contractors Establishment a contract worth SR43.5 million ($11.6 million) for the development and landscaping of a park and construction of an adjacent canal promenade at Bay La Sun, one of the city’s prestigious districts.

“Juman Park is designed to be a special public amenity and we are very pleased to place this major project in the very capable hands of New Job,” stated Fahd Al-Rasheed, managing director and CEO of KAEC. “The park is designed to elevate the city experience for residents and visitors alike, it adds to the dynamic lifestyle in the Bay La Sun district which offers the very best of the work, live and relax model.”

Fahad Almutawa, managing director of New Job contracting company, stated: “Our Company is very pleased to be awarded the prestigious contract, which reflects KAEC’s confidence in our performance based on the long lasting partnership we have established with King Abdullah Economic City.”

Ramzi Solh, COO of Commercial Development at KAEC said: “Scheduled for completion in May 2015, Juman Park and Promenade span an area of over 55,000 sq m in the heart of the Bay La Sun district. The park is bordered by the Bay La Sun Hotel & Marina on one side and the Bay Views Office Park on the other, all connected by way of the canal promenade.”

“Facilities in Juman Park include: a private recreational area enclosing a private hotel swimming pool and tennis courts to be managed by Bay La Sun Hotel & Marina, KAEC’s first hotel managed by Al Khozama.

“Additionally, the Park will integrate wet and dry play zones for children and open play areas; outdoor exercise stations connected via a walking and running track; multi-sport courts; rental bicycle stations; a miniature golf course; an amphitheater and F&B kiosk locations available for rental.  The Park will not only be an unmatched amenity for Residents of the City, but also a destination for visitors,” he added.

The children’s dry play zone is for ages 3-12 years and includes 12 major play pieces. Climbing, swinging and jumping are all a part of the experience so the zone has impact-resistant flooring to ensure children’s safety. The wet zone also includes a water splash.
