Alyusuf’s etched glass draws huge interest

Manama, May 7, 2014

Alyusuf Glass and Mirrors Company, a member of the contracting division of Alyusuf Holding, has received several enquiries at the gulfBID exhibtion, currently under way in Bahrain, for its premier etched glass panes, which are designed for home and office interiors.

“Our new etched glass products, which can be used for doors and windows, are also sculpted to replicate various landmarks of Bahrain like the Bahrain Financial Harbour,” said showroom manager Radhi Mansoor Alsaeed, adding that they are carved using new waterjet cutting machines to ensure precision and a good finish.

The Bahrain-based company’s product showcase at the exhibition includes new fabric lamination glass which, as its name suggests, has sheets of fabric designs inserted between 3.3-mm-thick glass panes. The panes, which sport colourful designs, create a perforated appearance which, according to Alsaeed, can enhance interiors.

A regular exhibitor at gulfBID, Alyusuf Glass and Mirrors Company has expansion plans which are in the initial stages, according to Alsaeed.

“We have bought land for setting up additional lines that will facilitate higher production and increase our scope for innovative designs,” he added.

Leaders in the decorative glass business, the company’s product line includes handrail and balustrade glazing solutions, which comply with all building regulations and British Standard recommendations for structural stability, safety and accessibility. They are available in a range of materials and coloured finishes.

It also offers bent or curved glass domes, balustrades and single or double-glazed windows. The curved glass can be used for staircase and balcony railings as well as display boards and antique cabinets.

Other products include automatic sliding doors, which are also available in frameless versions. Its decorative glass section uses resin outlines and colour pigments that are ultraviolet (UV) stable and do not crack, peel or fade.

The company also offers the spider fitting glass system, which offers high flexibility, enabling the construction of structures where the glass can bend under wind pressure.

Alyusuf Glass and Mirrors Company’s portfolio also includes shower enclosures, which are offered in a variety of styles and designs for framed and semi-frameless enclosures.
