Top firms in Project Qatar success

Doha, May 15, 2014

The ongoing Project Qatar 2014, a leading construction, technology and building materials exhibition, is proving to be a resounding success for the international companies showcasing their broad range of products, services and solutions

Many of the exhibitors are global leaders in their sector as well as established SMEs, others are new to Qatar, exhibiting their innovative concepts for the first time, while the rest are companies the event welcomes back each year, said the organisers of the event, which concludes today (May 15).

The broad scope of Project Qatar allowed visitors to liaise with suppliers and exhibitors covering all sub-sectors of the construction industry - from building materials to engineering and design services - to heavy machinery, glass, pumps, steel producers and sustainable wood products.

All are driven to Project Qatar as it provides a unique and dynamic platform for buyers and suppliers to forge partnerships and propel future developments in the country’s multi-billion dollar construction sector, said the organisers.

While many companies are exhibiting at Project Qatar 2014 to build relationships and search for local representatives and distributors, others are showcasing their capabilities to ensure that their products and services remain in the public eye and recognized by the end-user in a global environment.

Al Hamad Automobiles is one such company showcasing its products and services at Project Qatar 2014. On the opening day (May 12), the company at an official key handover ceremony at Project Qatar, awarded Midmac Contracting a brand new JAC Dump Truck as recognition for its professional and dedicated services and for reaching one million kilometers without any technical fault.

Al Hamad Automobiles is a leading and established automobile company and the exclusive agent of JAC trucks in Qatar where a permanent team of JAC automobile engineers are stationed at Al Hamad Automobiles offering service facilities, supervising repairs and maintenance.

George Annish, the general manager of Al Hamad Automobiles, said: “We have enjoyed a strong 45-year relationship with JAC International and are delighted to hand over the keys and award a brand new heavy-duty dump truck to Midmac Consulting. It is recognized that MIDMAC is the best fleet sales customer and we value their commitment and professionalism."

"This year’s exhibition has been the best year yet and Project Qatar continues to be an outstanding platform for us to meet with our partners and continue to build and strengthen our relationships in Qatar," he added.

International exhibitors are finding numerous opportunities to do business in Qatar as they explore the multitude of projects being undertaken as part of the lead up to Qatar’s $200 billion master plan to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Project Qatar 2014 has provided a platform for international exhibitors to get a first-hand view of the development plans, meet local operators in the markets, and develop new business partnerships.

In contrast, a number of Qatar-based companies exhibiting at Project Qatar are largely looking for international partners that will enable them to bring new technologies including sustainable and eco-friendly products and services to the local market, and offer local companies an opportunity to expand their business operations outside the country.

Tawrid Qatar is the trading company distributing industrial installations mainly related to concrete and partners with German company Ecofrog for product distribution.

Ecofrog focuses on the design, construction and installation of custom made recycling plants for the concrete industry. One of their specialist machines is a concrete recycling reclaimer providing a highly ecological solution for separating waste water from hard materials.

Instead of dumping waste on land, this specific machine assembles the materials and aggregates the hard materials such as sand, while separating it from waste and clean water.

Hadi Khoury, the general manager of Tawrid Qatar, said: "Qatar’s need for not only large and complex machinery and equipment but products and services with sustainable and ecofriendly solutions makes it a perfect market to host a specialized exhibition like Project Qatar in the Middle East."

"We are very pleased to be present here at Project Qatar and believe we are making an impact. We have quoted work for a number of potential clients and we have already sold one of our specialist machines to UDC - United Ready-Mix in the Lusail Area. A number of companies have shown a huge interest in our concrete recycling reclaimer product throughout the duration of Project Qatar,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
