Jotun opens technical services office at Jeddah airport

Jotun has opened its first ever technical services site office in Saudi Arabia at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah. 
 
The initiative follows the company’s appointment as the leading paint/coating supplier in the current phase of the mega project to upgrade and upscale the airport to meet the huge year-on-year increase in domestic and international air travel, said a statement.
 
Jotun will provide contractors with expertise and assistance to ensure quality and services are maintained without any compromise at the airport.
 
The technical services site office will provide information about approved paint systems, colour schemes, conduct technical meetings at the site to solve routine issues, give presentations about product usage and carry out regular supervision and inspection, it said. 
 
The expansion of the airport is a project to create a state-of-the-art facility that will act as an international hub connecting east and west with the port city of Jeddah and the gateway of the two holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. 
 
The project will be carried out in three phases and is expected to be completed by 2035 with a serving capacity of 80 million passengers annually. 
 
The phase one covers over a million sq m and consists of terminal complexes, control tower, load centres, railway station and supporting facilities. When completed KAIA will be an airport city with facilities and services that are environmentally and economically sound. 
 
Khaja Hafeezudin, sales manager, Deco Projects Jotun Saudia, said: “The KAIA contract win is highly important for Jotun. Accordingly, we have opened the technical services site office in line with our vision ‘Jotun Protects Property’ and to support our commitment to ‘Closer to Consumer’."
 
With Jotun’s Single Source Solution (SSS) approach, Jotun Decorative Projects Segment has secured approval to supply Fenomastic Hygiene, Fenomastic Stain Resistant, Jotashield Topcoat Silk, Jotashield Tex Ultra and Jotashield Super Durable, Tankguard 412, Jotafloor Coating. 
 
The Protective Segment will supply Steelmaster Intumescent Coating and Exterior High Performance Coating, and the Powder Segment: Powder coating will provide for data centre, ATC Tower and mosque. - TradeArabia News Service
