Saudi inflation rises to 3.1pc

Inflation in Saudi Arabia, as measured by the cost of living index, rose to 3.1 percent in June from 2.96 percent in May, according to figures from the Central Department of Statistics.

The department said the cost of living index reached 104.4 points in June. It gave no comparative figures for the month of June 2006.

According to the central bank's Web site, the index reached 101.3 points in June 2006. -Reuters
