DSOA hosts Corning Cable Systems officials

Dubai, March 22, 2010

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) played host to senior executives of Corning Cable Systems, one of the first companies to open its regional office in the high-tech park.

Corning Cable Systems, part of the telecommunications segment of 'Fortune 500' company Corning Incorporated, offers the broadest range of end-to-end fiber optic and copper product solutions for customers' telecommunications networks.

With locations in the Middle East since 2001 and in DSOA since 2006, the company has demonstrated its commitment to tap into the region’s growth possibilities.

Corning Cable Systems managing director (EMEA) Gilbert Chorosz was received by Dr Mohammed Al Zarouni, DSOA vice chairman and chief executive officer, and a team of senior officials.

Dr Al Zarouni said, “At DSO, we endeavour to provide businesses an environment that offers a range of integrated services by pre-empting their requirements. We try to lend all the support necessary for companies to operate successfully so they can focus their efforts on achieving their business objectives."

"Corning Cable Systems was one of the first companies that set up an office in the tech-park and its success in this region stands testimony of our commitment to our customers," he remarked.

Chorosz said Dubai offered huge growth potential in the Middle East for major global corporations to base their regional operations. "Our presence here connects us with a wide network of potential customers and helps us understand the business processes and cultural sensitivities of the region," he noted.

“Dubai Silicon Oasis remains an integral part of our strategy for expansion in the GCC region. It has become a prominent hub for the technology and semi-conductor industry, offering considerable incentives to operate from its premises. Over the past five years, we have benefited tremendously from our association with this free-zone.”

Dubai Silicon Oasis is a wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai and operates as a free zone technology park for the semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D facilities in the Middle East and Africa region.-TradeArabia News Service
