Egypt's urban inflation at 11.87pc

The urban consumer inflation was 11.87 percent in the 12 months to May from 12.1 percent in April, figures on Egypt's state statistics agency showed on its website on Thursday.

The urban consumer price index for May was 114 versus 101.9 a year ago, the state statistics agency said.

Three analysts cited forecasts for urban inflation -- the most closely watched indicator of prices -- that ranged from 12.4 percent to 12.6 percent. The average of the forecasts was 12.5 percent. - Reuters
