Saudi July imports contract 17.2pc y/y

Saudi Arabia's non-oil imports have contracted 17.2 per cent y/y in July, according to data released by the country's Central Department of Statistics and Information.

Non-oil exports account for around 10 per cent of overall exports of Saudi Arabia. The world's largest oil exporter does not release complete trade data.

Analysts polled by Reuters in June expect the Gulf country to post a current account surplus of 15.5 percent of gross domestic product in 2011.-Reuters
