Careers UAE 2008 to be the biggest ever

Dubai, March 4, 2008

Careers UAE 2008, the premier recruitment, training and education event for UAE nationals, will be the biggest ever edition of the exhibition.

It will occupy four halls at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) for the first time, said an official spokesman.

Recording a 40 per cent growth in exhibition area to 14,000 sq metres, the eighth edition of the show will, for the first time, include a dedicated arena for the ITC industry. Financial Services, including banking, real estate, insurance, hospitality, oil and gas and tourism companies will also be strongly represented at the event.

Held under the patronage of the vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC)-organised exhibition will be held from April 15  to 17.

“Emiratisation continues to be the prime focus of the show, which will seek to provide guidance and support to young UAE nationals starting out on a career, or seeking to take their career to the next level,” said director general of DWTC Helal Saeed Al Marri.

“Careers UAE has seen tremendous growth since its launch in 2000 and each year we build on this legacy to empower UAE nationals to contribute effectively to the country’s progress. Careers UAE plays a vital role in bringing together the nation’s economic power houses and the undoubted talent emerging from the country’s universities and colleges.”

A unique platform, Careers UAE facilitates talented UAE nationals with varying qualifications to interact directly with recruiters from various economic sectors. Designed to connect job seekers to diverse career opportunities, the event provides exciting networking possibilities, career leads, updates on a spectrum of companies, internship programmes and training and education opportunities.

The event will host for the first time, in coordination with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, the Young Entrepreneurs competition, a three-day activity during which students from different colleges and universities sell their products in a competitive environment. And on the sidelines of Careers UAE 2008 workshops will be held to address issues related to employment and human resources.
