Fifty Bahraini business managers and small and medium enterprises’ owners have joined the leadership skills programme at the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF).

BIBF, along with the Labour Fund held an induction ceremony for the hand-picked candidates, who were selected from 72 applicants include 10 Bahraini women, the institute said in a statement.

The 12-month long part-time "International Diploma in Management Programme" is offered in association with the Chartered Management Institute, UK.

It not only offers a programme tailor-made to nurture the leadership and management skills of the participants but also a raft of very valuable incentives such as access to a Student Resource Centre where a range of information is organised by qualification to support students studying for their CMI management qualifications.

At 'Ask a Researcher' facility, experienced researchers can assist with work or studies, make email enquiries and receive a response within one working day and a year-long Sponsored Membership in the Chartered Management Institute among other benefits.

"We are excited to be partnering the BIBF in this landmark leadership development programme spearheaded by the LF's Human Capital Development initiatives. This programme will help Bahraini business owners and senior managers to strengthen their experience and management expertise by underpinning it with formal learning of the highest order," said Labour Fund’s vice-president for Human Capital Development Dr Ahmed Abdul Ghani Al Shaikh.

"The implementation of this programme is proof of the LF's belief in the potential of Bahraini top management and business owners to shape the future of Bahrain's economic environment and strengthen it. Through this programme, the candidates will hone their skills in planning effective recruitment and development strategies for their businesses," he added.
The Leadership Skills Programme has been planned for two batches right now and applications are already being invited for the second batch that will get underway in October 2008. Selection will take place in September. 

BIBF Director Garry Muriwai said the programme will be taught by the BIBF's expert faculty and will focus on providing candidates with guidance and useful insights on how to expand their business and what direction they take to achieve maximum levels of achievements.
"What makes the programme especially effective is that the participants will be learning in an environment built around action-based, practical, and work-related outcomes," he said.

"The successful candidates will acquire a Qualification in Management with the Chartered Management Institute of the UK and get a head-start towards becoming a Chartered Manager, the highest level of achievement with the Chartered Management Institute." – TradeArabia News Service
