Emirates to hire cabin crew in Bahrain

Manama, May 13, 2010

Emirates airline has announced a cabin crew recruitment drive in Bahrain this week.

The carrier will visit Bahrain in a bid to recruit more cabin crew from across the region to support its rapidly expanding network and fleet.

With a large number of Arabic speaking destinations served, Emirates is working hard to further increase its Arabic language crew count. The airline last visited the country in January 2008 with over 90 people applying for a cabin crew position with Emirates.

The cabin crew open day will be held on May 15 between 09:00am to 10:00am at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel. The open day will provide interested candidates with a chance to submit their resumes to the Emirates Cabin Crew recruitment team and gain a better understanding of what life is like at 40,000 feet. The following day, May 16, pre-selected candidates from the previous day will go through the assessment and selection process.

“There are very few jobs that enable you to travel the world on a daily basis and even fewer where your office is 40,000 feet in the sky. Life as an Emirates Cabin Crew member is both diverse and rewarding and it is not surprising that we receive around 10,000 applications for cabin crew each and every month,” said Jo Anne Warda, Emirates Cabin Crew Recruitment.

“We are excited to once again be back in Bahrain. We have recruited a number of talented people from Bahrain in the past and are hopeful that we will have the same great turnout that we have had in previous years.”

To be considered for the role as an Emirates airline cabin crew member, candidates must have achieved High School certification, be over 21 years of age, have safety arm reach of 212cm and be fluent in written and spoken English. Candidates should also have a friendly, customer-oriented personality, be committed to working in a team environment and enjoy travel.

“We look for all manner of qualities when selecting cabin crew. Most importantly they must have a true desire to help others and a meticulous approach to service excellence. They must be dynamic and confident and have a desire to see the world.”

Following the stringent selection process those candidates that are successful will be flown to Dubai where they will begin their new lives as Emirates cabin crew. Over 11,100 cabin crew, spanning 129 nationalities, currently serve the airline’s 102 destinations. All are based in Dubai.-TradeArabia News Service
