Batelco continues support for inJAz Bahrain

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecommunications provider, has announced its continued support for inJAz Bahrain, as part of its corporate social responsibility programme. 

InJAz Bahrain is a non-profit organisation which aims to educate Bahraini students about the fundamental concepts of economic based education.

In addition to providing financial support to inJAz Bahrain, Batelco will also provide Job Shadow opportunities for a number of inJAz Bahrain students during 2011.

The inJAz Bahrain Job Shadow programme provides the opportunity for students to gain workplace experience and learn more about career options. Such experience builds invaluable skills such as realising the importance of showing up on time for work, dealing with supervision in the workplace, learning how to handle stress and developing interpersonal skills to work in harmony with team players.

It gives the participants the opportunity to experience a typical day on the job and realise how the skills learned in educational establishments relate to the workplace, said a statement.

Batelco Group general manager media relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Batelco was very pleased to continue with its support for the very worthwhile inJAz Bahrain programme.

“Through our support we hope to benefit many participants of the programme and we look forward to seeing students take part in the work shadow programme here at Batelco.

“Such learning opportunities that can be gained through participation in the workplace should greatly enhance classroom learning,” he added.

Deputy executive director of inJAz Badria Naqi said: “We have always counted on Batelco’s support both financially and through the provision of volunteers. This finacial aid will enable us to extend the Job Shadow programme to as many as 100 students.  We are truly grateful for Batelco’s continuous support which has so evidently contributed to inJAz Bahrain’s sustainbilty and growth.”

Since the formation of inJAz Bahrain, Batelco has been a keen supporter and additionally a number of Batelco employees have actively supported inJAz Bahrain by volunteering their time to deliver the programmes and share their skills with inJAz Bahrain students, the statement added. – TradeArabia News Service
