Tamkeen hosts orientation session for private firms

Manama, March 3, 2012

Over 300 business owners took part in an orientation session organised by Bahrain's labour fund Tamkeen for its private sector support programmes.

The session held at Bait Al Tijar Building highlighted the multitude of schemes available under the fund's Enterprise Development Support programme.

The flagship programme is part of Tamkeen’s strategic drive to deliver accessible business support services to enhance productivity and growth of private sector businesses in Bahrain.

Tamkeen’s orientation sessions have been operating at full capacity for several months, with over 650 business owners attending the sessions over the past two weeks alone, said a senior official.

This dramatic surge came as a result of a series of enhancements made to the support programme based on feedback from existing and potential beneficiaries.

“These indicators are an encouraging sign that the enhancements to the programme have been well received by the business community across all business sectors,’ remarked Mohammed Bucheery, the senior manager Private Sector Support in Tamkeen.

“By organizing these expanded sessions periodically, we are able to accommodate a much  larger number of business owners in addition to maintaining the regular orientation sessions five times a week at the Agency’s offices in Seef ,” he noted.

“This milestone is testimony to the programme’s success, and fuels our commitment to enable even more enterprises to find new growth opportunities through Tamkeen enterprise support programmes,” he added.

The session offered applicants a detailed overview of all the schemes available to them through Tamkeen’s private sector support, as well as noting the various enhancements made to make the application and tracking process more accessible and convenient.-TradeArabia News Service
