Boeing selects 3 Emirati students for internship

Dubai, December 16, 2012

The Boeing Company has selected three Emirati students for its 2013 International Business Intern Co-Op Program.

The annual program, launched for the first time in the UAE, allows students to spend six months working in the US at the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) plant in Renton, Washington.

The three students selected for the program are Zainab Al Junaibi, an American University in Dubai (AUD) student from Abu Dhabi; Shamma Khalfan Al Nuaimi, a United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) student from Al Ain; and Maha Yaqoot Juma Harqoos, a Zayed University (ZU) student from Dubai.

“By interning with the world’s largest aerospace company, these students will be given a chance to contribute to projects that will not only have a measurable impact on our company but also on the aerospace industry,” said Jeffrey Johnson, president of Boeing Middle East. “This is a tremendous opportunity and I would like to congratulate the students who have been selected to represent the UAE on the program. In addition to being part of our longstanding commitment to workforce development in the UAE through partnership and innovation, this program is specifically designed to share Boeing’s knowledge and experience at an academic level.”

As part of the program, the students will work in BCA’s Commercial Aviation Services (CAS), Marketing Analysis and International Marketing divisions from January to June 2013, while earning academic credits from their educational institutions. In addition to meaningful work experience, interns will be provided with training, tours, informational interviews, mentorship and access to executive roundtables, allowing them to gain first-hand knowledge of the aerospace industry. – TradeArabia News Service
