Tamkeen hosts leadership workshop

Bahrain's labour fund Tamkeen conducted a four-day leadership workshop for human resource practitioners and business owners offering them an opportunity to further their insights into Bahrain Labour Law.

The intensive four-day workshop, which took place recently at the Gulf Hotel, was attended by 37 HR practitioners and business owners. It was second in the series on the topic of Bahrain Labour Law and ninth workshop in the series overall.

The training modules for the workshops under the programme were designed by leading consultancy Third Wave International and renowned corporate education provider DeakinPrime (DP) and was delivered by Madhavan Kallath, a reputed trainer accredited by DP.

Attendees received certificates at the conclusion of the workshop, which drew its content from Bahrain Labour Law, Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), and the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO)

Key areas such as main provisions under the Bahrain Labour Law, employer and employee rights, labour reforms, leave allocation, and visa processes.

Tamkeen’s acting VP for Human Capital Development Amal Al-Kooheji, said, “We designed the workshops to focus heavily on those areas which matter most to Bahraini HR practitioners in order to develop and equip Bahraini professionals with the knowledge they need to succeed in the modern business world.”

“The workshop allowed me to further strengthen my knowledge on the Bahrain Labour Law, with in depth group discussions propelling me to understand and overcome various issues relating to personnel and, in turn, implement these changes through best practices,” said  Sama Abdulhameed, the HR manager at GAA.

“It was a refreshing course with many key topics relating to legal and compliance with regards to HR.  I was also able to empower myself to take back this wealth of knowledge to my organisation”, said another participant, Fadhel Abbas Almahdi, the head of Employee Relations at YK Al Moayyed & Sons.
   
The sessions also covered how the law compares to international standards, and featured an address on the final day by Dr. AbdulBaset Abdulmohsen, Legal Counsel from the Ministry of Labour.-TradeArabia News Service
