Latest science, technology offerings on show

Abu Dhabi, October 31, 2013

Latest offerings from the region’s leading science and technology providers will be showcased in Abu Dhabi next month.

The Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF), organised by the Abu Dhabi Technology Committee (TDC), will take place at Abu Dhabi’s du Forum on Yas Island and the Abu Dhabi Corniche, East Plaza along with activations in Al Ain, Al Gharbia, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain, from November 14 to 23.

The festival will feature guest exhibits from Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt science institutions, besides the array of rich local content on offer.

Neama Al Marshoudi, manager of Content, Science and Technology Promotion, from TDC, said: “ADSF’s continued success year-on-year means we are constantly looking for fresh and engaging content that will add to the excitement of the festival.

“This year we broadened our approach and reached out to regional science and technology content providers, all of whom have exemplary credentials within the sector.”

“We have a wealth of excellent providers partnering with us and we are thrilled with having Bahrain’s Science Centre, Egypt’s Planetarium Science Centre and Jordan’s Children’s Museum joining us during this edition”.

It also provides a platform to support, encourage and inspire the UAE youth with the world of science and inspire them to realise their potential of becoming innovatiors of tomorrow, she said.

Bahrain’s Science Centre is offering a dissection workshop titled ‘What’s Inside?’, that provides an inside look at fish and squid through dissection by a hands-on biologist.

‘Professor Zanzoun’ from Egypt will bring his absorbing ‘Super Science’ show to the nation’s capital. Visitors will experience edutainment with hands-on experiments and presentations to discover the marvels of chemistry, physics and biology.

Jordan’s Children’s Museum will bring an interactive workshop ‘It Lights Up!', to explore electricity – how it works, what a conductor is and how to light up a dough camel caravan. - TradeArabia News Service
