French school in Oman to open soon

Muscat, June 11, 2014

The foundation stone for the French School in Oman was laid at the Airport Heights in Muscat recently, said a report.

The construction of a private and independent building for the French international school in the area will provide educational services to the French speaking communities, said the Times of Oman report.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of next year, it said.

The new building will comprise 25 classrooms, four science laboratories, a library, common facilities, a 200-sq m gymnasium, a 25 m long swimming pool and a student cafeteria. It is expected to host up to 450 students in all class levels, said the report.

The land was provided by the Ministry of Housing, as part of its efforts to invest in the educational field, while the French government is contributing to this project, it added.
