Manama, August 26, 2014

An initiative has been launched to help young Bahraini entrepreneurs turn their projects into successful businesses that will contribute to the national economy.

The "Intilaqa" (Start Up) development initiative is the brainchild of the Nasser bin Hamad Foundation and aims to support ideas of Bahraini youths and guide owners of start-ups, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

A package of specialised programmes will be launched under the initiative, which will encourage Bahraini inventors and youngsters to enter the scientific and technical sectors.

The scheme will then target specific sectors, which include information technology, telecommunications, e-Commerce, tourism and leisure, retail commerce and media.

The "Intilaqa" initiative will provide financial, legal and moral support to all innovative projects and inventions, taking into account specific rules and regulations.

His Majesty's Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his delight at inaugurating the initiative.

He underscored the importance of disseminating the culture of entrepreneurship and honing youth skills which would lead eventually to the development of a knowledge-based economy. - TradeArabia News Service
