GE to unveil key diagnostic technologies

GE Healthcare, the healthcare business of General Electric, will leverage its participation at the upcoming Arab Health expo to mark the Middle East launch of advanced healthcare solutions and underscore its public private partnerships in the region.

A premier healthcare exhibition in the Middle East, Arab Health will be run from January 24 to 27 at the Dubai International Convention Center.

GE Healthcare said as a platinum sponsor of Arab Health, the company will highlight its technological advancements, especially in the field of medical diagnostics, in addition to underscoring its commitment to public private partnerships in the region to enhance the standards of healthcare delivery.

GE Healthcare’s showcase at Arab Health builds on the company’s healthymagination initiative to increase access, improve quality and efficiency and lower costs of healthcare.

Aziz Koleilat, general manager at GE Healthcare for the Middle East region, said the two challenges faced by the healthcare sector of the Arab world are rising healthcare bills and increasing incidence of lifestyle diseases.

"Our healthymagination initiative is aligned to meet these challenges by emphasizing on an ‘earlier model’ of healthcare, where through early diagnosis the treatment can be made potentially more effective and cheaper."

"Enabling this is our array of diagnostic technologies, which are showcased at Arab Health. These will not only enhance operational efficiencies of healthcare centers but also enable physicians to detect diseases early, thus promoting better healthm," he noted.

Among the highlights of GE’s technologies at Arab Health is the full spectrum of oncology diagnostic solutions - from systems used in initial diagnosis to treatment planning and monitoring to productivity enhancing IT solutions.

GE’s comprehensive product portfolio has been developed over half a century by working closely with mammography customers, with the aim being to deliver high quality, innovative, efficient and patient-friendly breast imaging products.

Advanced tools from GE Healthcare to be unveiled include rotational imaging on Innova interventional imaging systems and the Advantage Workstation (AW) VolumeShare.

Also on display will be GE’s comprehensive CT portfolio including the exceptional ASiR  (adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction) low dose reconstruction technology, available on GE Discovery CT750 HD, Optima CT660 and BrightSpeed Elite.

GE’s ASiR can reduce dose by up to 40-50 per cent while maintaining image quality and can be implemented as a cost-effective upgrade for existing GE LightSpeed VCT customers, the official added.-TradeArabia News Service
