GE unit honoured for support during Haj

GE El Seif Medical Services, a joint venture of GE Healthcare and El Seif Development, was honoured recently by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health as a key ‘Partner of Success’ for its support during the Hajj season.

“This year’s pilgrimage season was a success on all aspects, especially in the level of healthcare services offered by the Ministry of Health (MOH) which undertook concerted initiatives to support the healthcare management of the thousands of pilgrims,” said Ali Al-Shahri, MOH Maintenance assistant manager at a special ceremony held in Makkah.

“GE El Seif Medical Services played a key role in supporting the Ministry’s objectives by providing modern medical technologies and ensuring the availability of its trained engineers on-site.”

“All components and spare parts were also readily available thus adding to the efficiency of operations. GE has proven strength in advanced healthcare technologies and we are pleased to have extended our partnership with the company for our healthcare management initiative during the Hajj season,” he added.

Among the highlights of GE El Seif Medical Services’ participation was the introduction of the Cyber FE Tele-Service an integrated approach that offers video support, greater site information for faster diagnosis, and immediate transmission for better and quicker care.

GE El Seif Medical Services also set up a temporary dedicated backlog in Makkah, with sufficient quantities of all critical medical equipment and spares. In addition, it provided 20 highly skilled personnel to support the Ministry operations. The personnel assigned included senior field engineers, leaders, service center agents and logistics specialists.

GE El Seif Medical Services also provided its advanced healthcare technologies including CT scanners, MR, Cathlab, X-rays, monitors, incubators and vital medical equipment that assisted the 32 hospitals and 150 medical centers in Makkah, 12 hospitals and 515 centers in Madinah and 23 hospitals and 195 medical centers in the Hajj Main Area (Masha’er) with a total of over 33,000 beds.

Mohamed El-Demerdash, service general manager for GE El-Seif Medical Services said: “We are thankful to the Ministry of Health for their trust in our competencies to support its healthcare initiatives during the Hajj season.
