GE introduces new system at Arab Health
Dubai, January 25, 2012
GE Healthcare has unveiled its Lullaby LED phototherapy product at Arab Health, which addresses the needs of infants who are at risk of hyperbilirubinemia, a condition caused when there is too much bilirubin in the blood.
More than 50 per cent of all infants, both pre-term and full-term, are at risk of hyperbilirubinemia, said a statement from GE.
The system equips clinicians with a tool to deliver high intensity phototherapy to treat infants with hyperbilirubinemia.
By utilising LED technology, power consumption and the overall replacement costs are significantly reduced, resulting in up to 80 per cent energy savings and extended bulb life.
Commenting on the launch, Aziz Koleilat, general manager at GE Healthcare, Middle East, said: “It is a great addition to our Lullaby performance product portfolio and offers a safe, efficient and cost effective solution to address one of the most common ailments in newborns.”
GE Healthcare has several decades of presence in the Middle East region, and its technologies support a majority of hospitals.– TradeArabia News Service
