1,000 firms to take part in Wetex show

About 1,000 local and international companies and organizations and 12,000 visitors are expected to take part in the 14th Water, Energy, and Environment Exhibition 2012 (Wetex) in Dubai later this month.

This year’s exhibition will take place from March 13 to 15 at Zabeel Hall and Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The show will be the largest exhibition since its launch in terms of the number of participants, categories and activities and events, officials told a press conference today.

Exhibition organizer Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said it has finished all preparations for the event, which is being held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and president of Dewa.

The exhibition will cover a total area of 33,000 sq m, an increase of 10,000 sq m in comparison to the 2011 exhibition, which was 23,000 sq m.

“This year’s exhibition will be the 14th one in a row and has established itself a good reputation as an ideal platform to showcase and address important matters in water conservation, protecting natural resources and sustainable development. Participating companies seek to showcase their state-of-the-art technologies and solutions in electricity and water. This exhibition is an ideal opportunity for participants to display their technologies as it has become one of the most prominent exhibitions hosted by Dubai; to highlight Dubai’s global position as a hub for finance, business and tourism,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD and CEO of Dewa and chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of Wetex. – TradeArabia News Service
