UAE hospital offers free mammograms

Dubai, October 2, 2012

The Saudi German Hospital-Dubai is intensifying its awareness outreach during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, offering free mammograms every Monday and Thursday throughout October.

This is as part of its ongoing efforts to turn the tide in the fight against breast cancer, and further spread awareness on the best ways to prevent this disease, a statement from the hospital said.

From October 10 to 13 the public will learn potentially life-saving information at the hospital’s health kiosk at Mall of the Emirates. On October 18, the institution will host public lectures and activities empowering the public to be more health-conscious.

Sobhi Batterjee, president of Saudi German Hospital-Dubai, said: “We passionately believe that prevention is always better than cure. Rather than wait to combat breast cancer when it has advanced to dangerous stages, we are empowering the public with the knowledge to detect tumors early.”

“Our free mammograms are a giant step in early detection, and we encourage the public to bring their loved ones.”

To help in tackling breast cancer, Saudi German Hospital-Dubai has equipped itself with advanced diagnostic machines, and a range of state-of-the-art devices, the statement said. This is supplemented by its highly-skilled specialists from Europe and other leading hubs of medical research and practice. – TradeArabia News Service
