Blood diseases centre to open in Bahrain

A state-of-the-art Genetic Blood Diseases Centre is set to open in Bahrain on January 16, said Health Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi.

The medical milestone cost BD4.7 million ($12.4 million) for construction and BD 1.25 million for equipment.

"The four-storey medical centre has a capacity of 90 beds," Al Shehabi said as he inspected the new facility, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

He described the medical centre as a valuable milestone which will give Bahrain more edge in its fight against genetic blood diseases.

He was briefed on the workflow, medical and nursing staff in addition to ambulance equipment. – TradeArabia News Service
