AAH, AXA unit offer staff healthcare

Dubai, January 28, 2014

UAE-based Anglo Arabian Healthcare (AAH) has entered into a partnership with Icas, part of the global AXA group, to offer employee wellbeing healthcare programmes throughout the Middle East.

Mark Adams, CEO of Anglo Arabian Healthcare said: "It is a great privilege that Icas have chosen to join hands with Anglo Arabian Healthcare in order that we can expand a wide range of medical support services to existing and future clients.”

“In the UAE, there is increasing demand for onsite medicals, screening with the remote management of clinics and mobile health units. Our partnership with Icas will now allow us to develop these services for over 800 plus corporate clients in the UAE.

“I am delighted to welcome Paul Firth as our director of Occupational Health and am positive that our partnership will ensure that we remain the market leader in the region,” he added.

The benefits to employers investing in employee wellness services are numerous and can positively impact an organization's bottom-line as healthy and happy employees directly translate into greater productivity, less absenteeism and reduced healthcare costs, a statement said.

Mitigating the risk of employee sickness, stress, additions and injury through screening and preventative education could enable companies to cut health care costs by about $650 or 18 per cent per average working-age adult, according to a study in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Mental health issues now cited as the largest cause of long-term absence in the work place.

Established in early 2012 and based in Dubai Healthcare City, the AAH portfolio currently consists of 16 healthcare assets located across the UAE that currently include two hospitals, clinics, diagnostics, laboratories and a network of pharmacies.

Icas International has been operating since 1987 and is one of the world's leading providers of employee assistance programmes (EAP), wellbeing services, occupational health and critical incident support.

Globally, Icas has partner offices in over 50 countries and an established international support network that serves over 2,000 companies worldwide. – TradeArabia News Service
