Kingdom Hospitals wins JCI accreditation

Saudi-based Kingdom Hospitals has received accreditation from the world Joint Commission International (JCI) for its health care quality and safety standards in the hospital.

Since its inception in 2000, the hospital has been providing a comprehensive range of outpatient, emergency and inpatient services delivered at global standards of care supported by the latest technology, all within a compassionate environment, said Kingdom Holding Company (KHC).

JCI is the world’s leader in health care accreditation and the author and evaluator of the most rigorous international standards in quality and patient safety. Earning JCI accreditation and certification, recognized as the global Gold Seal of Approval.

The accreditation was awarded in the presence of Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, the KHC chairman and founder and chairman of the hospital, stated the KHC in its statement.

Founded in 1994 by The Joint Commission, JCI has touched more than 90 countries. Today, the organization helps patients in five continents and fields a well-trained team of international accreditation surveyors and consultants.

JCI enjoys a 20 per cent annual growth in the number of accredited organizations, just one metric of how it helps health care leaders to improve quality, safety, and efficiency as a shared goal.

Prince Alwaleed also inaugurated Kingdom Hospital Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology in the presence of the medical and administrative team of Kingdom Hospital that was headed by Dr Fayez Takieddine, the executive director, Kingdom Hospital and Consulting Clinics.

While touring the new center, Prince Alwaleed commended Kingdom Hospital leadership on establishing such a center equipped with the latest technology and state-of-the-art embryology laboratory coupled with a highly qualified medical care team specialized in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and embryology.

Prince Alwaleed also commended the design of the center that takes into consideration the privacy and comfort level of all patients. Kingdom Hospital’s Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology provides a comprehensive range of safe and effective treatment modalities for couples struggling with infertility.

Dr Takieddine said the center was designed and equipped on par with the highest international standards and the latest technology in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and assisted reproduction techniques supported with systems for quality control to ensure the highest degree of accuracy for the achievement of the best outcomes.

According to him, the center has a special IVF information system that guarantees the privacy and confidentiality of the patients’ data and is equipped with a cutting-edge digital embryology laboratory.

The embryology laboratory is designed and constructed with a special air filtering system that eliminates toxic organic molecules which negatively affects embryo development, he added.

In 2011, the hospital completed an expansion plan on the existing campus doubling its bed capacity, and adding an advanced heart center equipped with hitech cardiac cath lab and coronary cardiac care unit, a pediatric ward, a surgical ward, and a special pavilion for patients who want to avail themselves of healthcare in a luxurious environment.
