Bahrain assures availability of drug alternatives

Manama, July 7, 2014

Bahrain's public has been assured of the availability of alternatives to some drugs reportedly off the shelves of pharmacies in the kingdom.

National Health Regulatory Authority chief executive Dr Baha Eldin Fateha said that monopoly of medicines will not be tolerated and warned violators will face legal action, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

This came in response to complaints from patients over shortages of some medicines used for the treatment of chronic diseases, including hypertension and diabetes, due to a new pricing structure. - TradeArabia News Service
