Halul Offshore adds new vessel to fleet

Halul Offshore Services Company (HOSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Navigation, has taken delivery of its newest vessel, Halul 60.

The company took delivery of this vessel last week. The vessel is an Anchor Handling Supply Vessel with Dynamic Positioning and equipped with a state-of-the-art Oil Recovery System. The vessel has been contracted to Aramco, the Saudi Arabian oil company, for a period of 3 years starting July 2011.

Halul 60 was built in Malaysia by Sealink Engineering Shipyard. It was designed and built using the latest specifications that correspond to the latest requirements of the various oil companies.

With the delivery of Halul 60, the number of vessels owned and operated by the company reached 33 vessels operating in various capacities and specialties such as construction and maintenance, anchor handling, diving vessels and safety standby to mention just a few.

On the other hand, HOSC was awarded the contract to operate 3 vessels for Saudi Aramco. The contract is for a period of 3 years with a renewal option for two additional years totaling 5 years. It will utilise the vessels Halul 60 and Halul 61, which is being built in Malaysia and expected to be delivered in September 2011, as well as an additional third chartered vessel.

With this contract, the total number of HOSC vessels operating in Saudi Arabia (Saudi Aramco) will reach 5.-TradeArabia News Service
