Dubai Trade boosts Emirates, RTA e-service

Dubai Trade, the premier trade facilitator under Dubai World, has announced the launch of new value-added services for its partners Emirates SkyCargo and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The new offerings comes as part of its commitment to continuously improve its e-services, said a statement from Dubai Trade.

Dubai Trade customers seeking air freight services would now be able to check Emirates SkyCargo’s flight schedules and space availability, get price quotes, make bookings and track up to 10 shipments by airway bill or job reference numbers.

Uploading shipment related documents through the highly secure portal enables distribution to any other party in the supply chain, said a Dubai Trade statement.

Customers can also download software for Barcode Label Printing to generate industry standard labels for their cargo and print them, it added.

Dubai Trade’s partnership with the RTA allows the portal’s users, including unregistered visitors, access to a wide range of services including renew of vehicle registration, which can be done in minutes. As many as 100 vehicle registrations can be processed in a single transaction.

The applicant can pay Online using a credit card or e-Dirham card and a temporary Vehicle Registration approval is printed by the company on-the-spot. The vehicle is registered as soon as the temporary Vehicle Registration approval document is printed and it can immediately be driven.

Mahmood Al Bastaki, director, Dubai Trade, said: 'The integration of services offered by Emirates Sky Cargo and the RTA into Dubai Trade’s online portal is another step towards our efforts to further strengthen Dubai’s position as the regions’ leader in e-commerce and e-services.'

'The value addition introduced by this initiative will benefit all our customers from the supply chain sector, as well as unregistered visitors to our website. We remain committed to enhancing customer experience on Dubai Trade portal through more innovations,' he observed.

RTA Licensing Agency CEO Ahmed Bahrozyan said the RTA like Dubai Trade was looking to improve business efficiences, reduce industry costs and improve customer convenience.

'Many of our vehicle related products are now available Online with more coming in 2011. Improved integration with Dubai Trade will further benefit companies and improve convenience,' he noted.  

Other add-on offered for Dubai Trade clients are Emirates SkyCargo’s BookingsView, which displayes current status of shipments, sends alerts and notifications, and an Address Book offering regular customers to create their own records of bookings and messages.-TradeArabia News Service
