Drydocks to host top shipping forum in Dubai

UAE-based Drydocks World & Maritime World, a major provider of services to the maritime industry, has announced that the Mare Forum Shipping Summit will be held in 2014 in Dubai.

The event, which will be attended by global leaders in the industry, will be the first time that this internationally recognized forum will be held in Dubai. It will focus world-wide attention to the growing importance and emerging stature of Dubai within industry circles.

The Mare Forum considered by many to be the most global and influential forum for the maritime and marine industry will make its first ever foray into the Mena region, the Indian sub-continent and Africa.

The event will focus strongly on the world and the Middle East, and the global economic shift from West to East and traditional navigational relations with Africa.

“We recognize the importance of the Mare Forum in promoting healthy debate and discussion among international leaders within the global maritime industry, offshore, energy and oil and gas sectors and arriving at constructive recommendations that could direct the future of international Maritime and shipping industry and a number of allied sectors,” said Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World.

“Mare Forum in Dubai will help global leaders connect with the strong and emerging maritime sector in the UAE and will introduce key decision-makers in the region to the international players.

“This will greatly assist in building bridges, structuring new partnerships and expanding meaningful networks,” he added.

The dates and venue of Mare Forum Dubai Summit 2014 in Dubai will be announced shortly.
The summit will focus on topics and debate issues relating to the region, including the international business and trade, and the study of the global economy, energy and resource needs and their impact on the shipping industry, the prospects for commodity markets and energy.

Views from shipbrokers, traders, analysts and ship-owners and operators from all over the world will be debated to examine the issues related to the liquid, dry bulk and container market, funding and investments outlook as well as the outlook for new building, innovations in environmentally friendly projects, technological developments, smart investments and geopolitical issues and their impact on  industry.
