Alba appoints new services manager

Manama, October 29, 2013

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has appointed Gopichand Talreja as the new manager of Workshop & Maintenance Services.

Talreja has been with Alba since 1992 when he joined the planning section of the Carbon Maintenance Department during the Line 4 commissioning phase.  He earlier worked with Indian Aluminium Company (Indal) and has over 31 years’ experience in the aluminium industry.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray said: “The Workshop & Maintenance Services provides crucial support to our operations and play an important behind-the-scenes role in strengthening Alba’s reputation as one of the world’s leading smelters.

“I like to congratulate Gopichand on his appointment as the department’s new manager, and it is my confidence that he will raise the department’s profile with the same level of dedication and excellence he has shown in his previous responsibilities.”

Talreja graduated with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Suratkhal, India. He also holds a diploma in Business Management from the School of Business Management affiliated to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, India. – TradeArabia News Service
