Bahrain airport to get new passenger bridges

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has signed an agreement with a leading Chinese firm to replace the existing passenger bridges at Bahrain International Airport with new state-of-the-art passenger boarding bridges.

The signing ceremony, held during the Bahrain International Airshow 2014 was, attended by Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, chief executive officer of BAC and Wei Long, senior area manager for Mena and Turkey at Shenzhen CIMC TianDa Airport Support.

As per the BD1.2 million ($3.2 million) agreement, seven CIMC TianDa passenger boarding bridges will be installed to replace the existing bridges at Bahrain International Airport to further enhance the airport’s operations and travel experience.

The new bridges will not only provide weather protection, comfort, and safe walkway between terminal and aircrafts; but they will also be designed to create a welcoming ambience for passengers.

Al Binfalah said that the agreement is part of BAC’s immediate enhancement work at the airport, aiming to elevate the airport’s capabilities in keeping pace with the aviation growth.

“We are proud to collaborate with the renowned Shenzhen CIMC TianDa Airport Support.  With the cutting-edge passenger boarding, we maintain our commitment towards operations efficiency and service excellence,” he added.

Shenzhen CIMC-TianDa Airport Support is a Chinese based company specialized in designing and manufacturing airport equipment including passenger boarding bridges and cargo handling systems.
