Manama, April 3, 2014

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) welcomed a French delegation comprising around 30 industrial and business entrepreneurs from France and the Middle East.

They visited Alba to further strengthen bilateral trade relations as well as familiarise themselves with the company's operations and practices.

The delegation, led by French Ambassador Christian Testot and Trade Counsellor Frederic Mettetal, was received by Alba chief executive Tim Murray, chief marketing officer Jean Baptiste Lucas and chief financial officer Ali Al Baqali.

"We express our thanks to the French delegation for visiting Alba, and further strengthening business relations and cultural ties between Bahrain and France," Lucas said.

"It was a privilege to showcase the vital role that Alba plays in supporting the national economy as well as promote the business-friendly environment of Bahrain," he added.

The delegation was given a tour of the smelter and shown the state-of-the art production processes that have enabled Alba to maintain its status as one of the region's major aluminium smelters.

The delegation was also given a presentation highlighting Alba's development over the past 40 years and its commitment to safety and environment.-TradeArabia News Service
