Trend Micro names new manager

Dubai, January 21, 2009

Trend Micro, a global leader in Internet content security, has appointed Chris Moore as manager for Trend Micro Middle East, Africa and Med with immediate effect.

Moore joins Trend Micro at a time when the growth in web threats since 2005 has well exceeded 2000 per cent.

Moore’s priority will be to continue delivering Trend Micro’s value-added security solutions to help protect Middle East organizations. Moore, in his role as general manager for Trend Micro Middle East, Africa and Med, will focus on further growing the company in the region with its business partners, said an official spokesman.

“Web threats are exhibiting exponential growth, and I expect this trend will continue throughout 2009 and this is an exciting opportunity for me to be in a company whose goal is protecting its customers in a time of organized criminal activity over the web,” said Moore.

“The Middle East is increasingly vulnerable to online global threats. Today’s attacks are financially motivated and we are here to help our customers better protect themselves.”

Moore brings a wealth of in-depth experience to his new post, with more than 20 years of industry experience, 15 years of which have been in Middle East management roles. – TradeArabia News Service
