GO deploys Oracle to spur growth

Dubai, March 9, 2009

Etihad Atheeb Telecom “Go”, a new telecommunications operator in Saudi Arabia,
has implemented Oracle communications software to support its residential WiMax broadband services.

The implementation is part of Go’s launch strategy to support its competitiveness in the Saudi telecom market by keeping operational costs low, enabling rapid service innovation and ensuring strong customer intimacy.

Oracle communications billing and revenue management enables Go to quickly launch new IP services and innovative promotions.

Go is also using Oracle communications service activation to automate the order-to-activate provisioning cycle and Oracle communications inventory management to support the activation of complex services in a flow-through manner across multiple technology domains.

“As a new entrant in the Saudi market, Go needed a robust, innovative architecture to help support and meet its ambitious growth and revenue targets,” said said Craig Humphreys, vice president, information technology at Go.

“Go is committed to delivering great products and services with innovative spirit, and Oracle is the best vendor to support our success. We are confident that our infrastructure will provide customers with continued access to innovative services.

“Considering that IP services are highly complex and expensive to launch, manage and configure, Go implemented Oracle because of its strengths in providing an end-to-end approach that simplifies and enhances our IT environment,” he added.

Gordon Rawling, solution specialist director at Oracle Communications, said: “In a rapidly changing competitive landscape, it is crucial that Go has a holistic view of its business.

“Oracle’s software delivers the scalability and flexibility to integrate various parts of GO’s business to accelerate time to market for new services and provide competitive advantage.”
