Meeza among top cloud computing firms

Doha, July 12, 2009

Meeza, a Qatar-based managed IT services and solutions provider, has been named as the main Cloud Services provider within the Middle East and North Africa region by a leading journal.

Sys-con’s Cloud Computing Journal  lists the 150 most active players in cloud computing, expanding its list of 100 they identified in January of this year to half as many again – testimony to the growth of cloud services globally, said a statement.

Cloud services are consumer and business products, services and solutions that are delivered and consumed in real-time over the Internet.  Cloud services give businesses access to robust IT infrastructure and the latest applications without having to bear the high costs of ownership and maintenance.

Scott E MacKenzie, CEO of Meeza said: “We’re delighted to be recognised as the main provider of cloud services in Mena by such a reputable source as Sys-con. The important role that Information Technology will play in the continued growth and success of Qatar and the region is widely recognised.  In particular, the business sector will need access to world class infrastructure, applications and services to support the fast pace of growth and innovation. These are needs that Meeza is aiming to meet and cloud services are just one of the many managed IT services and solutions we can offer to our clients to help them rapidly scale their business.”

Meeza’s clients in Qatar currently benefiting from its IT services include Vodafone Qatar , Dohaland, the Ministry of Environment and Masraf Al Rayan. – TradeArabia News Service
