RAK FTZ sees Gitex getting bigger

Ras Al Khaimah, October 20, 2009

Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone emphasised the importance of maximising Gitex 2009 as one of the most important events of the year and underlined the impact of technology in today's business environment.

One of the major sponsors of Gitex Technology Week, RAK FTZ said it is zooming past the competition by being at the forefront of events in the UAE on the technology front - from Gitex to the exciting Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix Fan Zone from October 16 to November 1.

Speaking at the annual Gitex Exhibitor's reception, Oussama El Omari, CEO of RAK FTZ, said, "By simply being present in this year’s technology summit, we put ourselves in the most strategic arena every business aspires to be in. We witness history as it unfolds, we receive open access to the most effective technologies that not only keep us updated and well-equipped to adapt to these changes, but also make our businesses successful."

He said RAK FTZ prides itself in keeping up with the latest technological developments. "It provides many technological value-added services, and maintains a state-of-the-art data centre. This includes pre-installed IP telephony through a partnership with Cisco, a security platform, and experienced IT related consulting services to ensure the smooth operation of client and partner businesses."

With the emphasis in today’s world on wireless technology, RAK FTZ has made it easy for clients to be mobile and do their business without interruption from any location, El Omari said.

The comprehensive technology platform that the free zone provides has been a deciding point for most companies to register with RAK FTZ, and this can be seen in the increase in registrations year-on-year, especially for technology-based organisations, he added.

"In line with this, RAK FTZ is also at the forefront of another ground-breaking and historical event for the UAE: the first Formula 1 Grand Prix 2009 to be hosted by Abu Dhabi from October 16 to November 1. During this time, RAK FTZ will support the event and network with power players, with a kiosk at the Abu Dhabi Corniche."

“We are here to celebrate this outstanding achievement with the rest of the UAE. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is mark of progress for the country and we are proud to be part of this exciting international event,” El Omari added.-TradeArabiaNews Service
